President and CEO

An entrepreneur in the communications industry, VK has a 20-year record of creating and leading successful companies. Before founding OpenClovis, VK co-founded Fibex Systems in May 1997 to capitalize on the emerging CLEC market for a broadband access product. As a leader in their space, Fibex was acquired by Cisco. Prior to co-founding Fibex, VK held senior management positions at Next Level Communications (acquired by General Instrument, now Motorola), Optilink (acquired by DSC Communications, now Alcatel) and Northern Telecom. VK holds an MSCS from SUNY at Stony Brook, NY and a BSCS from MNL REC, India.

Hong Lu,
Co-Founder, Vice President, Product Management and Business Development

Hong has over 16 years of architecture and development experience, including management & architectural roles in 2 successful start-ups. Before co-founding OpenClovis, Hong architected the system infrastructure software platform and managed the platform Infrastructure software team that met the quality standards for system platform for Calix Networks. deployed C7 product. He began his management career at Fibex (acquired by Cisco) where he developed a reputation for on-time delivery to an aggressive schedule designing and developing control card, line card, and system software. He also developed system infrastructure software at Advanced Fibre Communications and Pulse Communications, and has two degrees including an MSECE from George Mason University, and BSEE from Fudan University, Shanghai, China.

Harby Sehmar,
Vice President, Engineering

Harby brings extensive (25 + years) experience through working for Telecommunications and Networking companies. He has managed engineering organizations with Hardware, Software and Development Test teams in start-up and Fortune 100 Companies. He brings proven abilities in building productive teams across multiple locations, including international sites. Developed products to meet or exceed worldwide standards. Successfully builds and motivates teams to deliver quality products and features. Client-focused with strong relationship building and strategic planning skills. Previously, Harby held management positions in Cisco Systems, managing teams developing features for Cisco's flagship IOS (Internetworking Operating System), and Fibex (acquired by Cisco) Carrier Class System Software. AFC as Director of International engineering, bringing international features and standards for implementation to AFC's product line. Prior to AFC held engineering management positions at Harris Corporation, Digital Telephone Systems Division, in Novato, CA.. Harby holds a B.Sc. (Honors) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Coventry University (formally known as Lanchester Polytechnic), England, UK.
