Mercury Computer Systems Licenses New OpenClovis ASP for its Advanced Development Platform.

OpenClovis Helps Standards-based Mercury Ensemble Offering Achieve Carrier-grade Manageability and High Availability for Next-generation Communications

CHICAGO, GLOBALCOMM 2006, June 5, 2006 –OpenClovis Inc. (previously Clovis Solutions, Inc.) today announced that Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. has signed an agreement to license and resell its OpenClovis Application Service Platform (ASP). Mercury intends to provide carrier-grade management and high availability services on the Mercury Ensemble family of Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (AdvancedTCA®) -based systems, as well as to develop unique applications using the OpenClovis ASP. Integration and deployment of the OpenClovis ASP is initially planned for the Ensemble2™ offerings.

“The communications industry is experiencing a dramatic transformation from products based on costly proprietary systems to solutions integrated from commercial off-the-shelf components,” said V.K. Budhraja, CEO and president of OpenClovis.
“With Mercury and OpenClovis working together to provide a highly available AdvancedTCA-based solution, the industry will be well-equipped to deliver products and services in record time with significantly less risk and cost.”

The Ensemble2 application platform from Mercury Computer Systems is a standardsbased system for developing and deploying applications. The Ensemble2 is a modular platform for the control and data plane, built around the performance, scalability and reliability of AdvancedTCA for the telecommunications, satellite communications, and defense markets.

“We’re pleased to partner with OpenClovis and offer a custom Mercury solution that meets the demands of next-generation platforms,” said Mark Skalabrin, vice president and general manager of the Advanced Solutions business at Mercury. “The combination of OpenClovis ASP and Ensemble enables us to support service providers’ network infrastructure requirements for standards-based, highly available and reliable systems.”

The OpenClovis ASP is suitable for a wide range of carrier grade network elements and its usage ranges from broadband access devices for technologies such as DSL, PON, 3G/WiMAX, to metro Ethernet and edge switches/routers, IPTV application servers and IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) core elements.

The OpenClovis ASP (also announced today at www.openclovis.com) consists of an
extensive set of management modules running on a distributed-information, modeldriven core infrastructure. Modules may be selected to best match the application and platform requirements. The OpenClovis ASP can be distributed across blades, shelves, and even racks, creating a seamless high availability platform and system management environment across heterogeneous network element building blocks.

The OpenClovis integrated development environment (IDE) simplifies and accelerates the development of value-add services and applications that meet the availability demands of next-generation networks. It provides a graphical UML (Unified Modeling Language) editor to easily specify a Service Availability Forum-aligned, highly available system and all the attendant hardware and software resources along with the
information model.

OpenClovis ASP, integrated with the Mercury Ensemble2 platform, gives the communications industry the flexibility and carrier-grade functionality it demands to deliver new value add services and products in a fraction of the time it took on
traditional platforms.
